“Why does my son need to urinate multiple times an hour?”
My 14 year old son feels he needs to urinate several times an hour. Why is that?

Urinary frequency may Signify urinary tract infection. It is best to seek medical attention and have a urine analysis performed
Need to rule out Diabetes by a physician. Urologic workup in order
That is not normal. There are several potential reasons and they all require medical attention. Rather than provide a list of worrisome information I suggest you take your son to a his pediatrician for evaluation. One needs to know if he is having other symptoms, evaluate blood and urine chemistry and urine microscopy and probably have imaging studies to be able to determine cause and possible treatment. Check his blood sugar with his pediatrician to make sure he doesn’t have diabetes. Urine infection, drinking liquids too frequently, and drinking too many caffeine beverages are other causes of frequent urination.
