“Why doesn't my one year old have teeth?”
My daughter just turned a year old and she only has two teeth in. Is this normal? Do you think I should take her to the dentist or wait?

Infants as early as three months, or as late as fourteen months often get their first tooth. Around 6 months is most common. Out of my 4 children, some were early and one was very late. So my range of normal is pretty big after seeing it in my family.
We do recommend bringing children to their first dental visit around 12 months of age. So anytime is great to bring her in for a happy visit and get her used to being at the dentist.

Hello,
You can take her to the dentist for a general check up, but different kids develop teeth differently. It can take up to 18 months of age.

Yes, this is normal. Averages are based On standard deviation and there is lots of variability on when teeth can come in. I would not worry. The advantage of getting teeth later is a little bit less chance for cavities. Thanks, Dr. PRICE
