“Why is my left arm and hand tingling?”
I am a 42 year old female. My left arm and hand are tingling. What could be the cause?

This is most likely due to carpal tunnel syndrome, the most common compression neuropathy in the upper extremity. Less commonly it could be due to cubital tunnel syndrome which often causes numbness in the small finger and the ring finger. Additionally it could be due to a pinched nerve in your neck. It could represent a combination of all three of these entities.
This could be related to an accumulation of arthritis in the cervical spine. If this persists, it maybe reasonable to get examined and potentially obtain an MRI to rule this out.
This is usually a pinched nerve. It could be a pinched nerve coming from your neck, or a pinched nerve in your wrist area which would most likely and most commonly be carpal tunnel syndrome.
The most common cause of tingling in the hand is carpal tunnel syndrome. Other potential causes are a pinched nerve in your neck, or possibly compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow, known as cubital tunnel syndrome. I would recommend that you see your physician or a hand surgeon to be examined and evaluated.
