If you are in pain you should be able to keep your appointment. Delaying a root canal can have life threatening consequences.
Our office is open and your appointment will not be canceled. Please call our office if you have any concerns or need to be seen sooner. Thanks, Dr. Sojo
No, you’re fine, we’ll take care of you!

A root canal is considered an emergency situation or one that left untreated will become one, so yes you should have the procedure
Good afternoon,

That's a great question. I am assuming you are concerned with this Covid-19 situation. It depends upon where you live, but as far as I am aware, we are all back in action. If you were thinking of another reason why it would be canceled, I would require more specifics.
I hope that helps.

Best of luck,

A root canal is an essential treatment for overall good health. An infected tooth, root, periodical abscess, related fistula all provide an infection vector probability into the body and bloodstream. This is a transferral of oral inflammatory disease from bacteria, virus, fungi, yeast, etc., into a systemic inflammatory incident. Your immune system is bombarded 24/7 as long as the vector remains. The sooner the root canal is done or the tooth extracted, the better for your overall health. Systemic inflammatory diseases are likely caused or exacerbated from oral bacteria, virus, and fungi which make their way into the bloodstream. Multiple daily brushing and oral rinsing can decrease the oral pathogenic load in everyone.
All the best
Hi,

You will have to contact your dental office directly to determine the status of your treatment.
Thanks.
I am not sure what you mean by cancelled. Is that in relation to offices being closed due to covid-19? Root canals do not heal on their own. They need definitive treatment to resolve. Your appointment may be delayed, but you still need treatment.
Ask your dentist or endodontist. No one knows for sure when restrictions will be lifted. You can be seen now if it is an emergency - pain or swelling. Many or most endodontists are seeing emergencies. It is possible that you will be able to be seen Monday...with proper precautions.
Good luck.
During the covid-19 pandemic, many dentists are still providing emergency services. Each state has different orders regarding this and one would need to call their dentist's office to determine if their root canal is deemed an emergency and the appointment can be kept.
Likely, it will not be canceled. The American Dental Association has mandated that all "non-essential" dental treatments not be performed due to the COVD-19. That being said, they are permitting root canals due to toothaches, tooth abscesses, or facial trauma. This is something you will need to discuss with your general dentist to determine if you will be getting your root canal next month.
It depends on the policy of the office where you are scheduled. Most offices are closed for general non-essential treatment for an indeterminate amount of time. In my office in Mountain View, CA, we are only seeing patients who need root canal treatment on an emergency basis, meaning they are in pain and/or have an active infection. I have treated a handful of patients this week which fall into this category. We have rescheduled all patients who have non-essential endodontic needs until mid-May, or when the current shelter at home provision has been lifted. You should contact your dentist to see what their current policy is, it is different for every office and every location.
You should call your dentist's office. If it is not an emergency, it may be postponed.
