Will my teeth shift without a retainer for a week?

I am a 28 year old female and I forgot my retainer for a trip. Will my teeth shift without a retainer for a week?

Normally not.
Probably a little. But just put the retainer back in and leave it for a day and the teeth should move right back in to place. It also depends on how long you’ve been in retention. The shorter the retention time the greater the chance of movement.
Should be fine if you put the retainer back in when you return.

Not necessarily...but it has happened.
Very unlikely.
yes
If you do not wear your RETAINER for a week, you may be surprised that your RETAINER may seen tight. You may have to visit your dentist to see if your RETAINER can be adjusted.
The teeth will shift slightly, but the retainers should still fit well enough to reverse the shift if you start using it again right away.
Depending when you got your braces off. If you JUST got them off, you can expect some movement. When you return home, just wear your retainers 24/7 for a while until they are straight again, then return to sleep time wear.
