Most of the time, if the diagnosis is correct, acupuncture can help reduce plantar fascia pain or plantar fasciitis. Recently, we had a patient who was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis by her primary physician on telemedicine and it appeared that the diagnosis was incorrect, the patient had a sprain ankle. We were able to treat the patient successfully and she can walk again without any pain.

Yes. I have had several patients complain of plantar fasciitis and have helped relieve them of that pain with acupuncture & traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Along with acupuncture, I incorporate massage techniques known as tui na, gua sha, and, if necessary/possible, can try cupping on the location of complaint. These treatments tend to help ease the muscle tension and help improve the patient's daily activities. Please check with your primary to see if acupuncture would be a safe medical approach for yourself.

Hi there,
While I’ve not personally yet to have seen Plantar fasciitis in over 12,000 patients, I see no reason why acupuncture wouldn’t help it, provided you find a practitioner with whom you connect. It sounds silly, but it is truly very important. With all of the pain-related cases in the lower extremities I’ve seen reach recovery, I would definitely give it a good and patient, consistent try...as well as Chinese Herbs!
All the best to your health.

Yes. I have had good results in the past with several plantar fasciitis patients. Be sure your acupuncturist has a Masters at least in Chinese Medicine and is NCCAOM certified.

Maybe. The one patient I treated for this I also had to do some Tui-Na (Chinese massage) and dig at the nodules in her feet along with acupuncture, which was quite uncomfortable.
Yes, we have successfully treated many patients with plantar fasciitis. You may also need to change the shoes you wear as well as not standing on very hard floors all the time to prevent it from reoccurring.
Hello & thank you for your question. Yes- acupuncture can help plantar fasciitis, and I've treated it many times in my clinic with success. Your practitioner may choose to enhance the acupuncture treatment with electrical stimulation (mild vibration of the needles that helps decrease pain and inflammation), cupping, and/or gua sha.
Yes, Acupuncture can help with plantar fasciitis. It is very effective and some times can resolve the problem win one visit.

Yes. Acupuncture treating for plantar fasciitis is great. I treat many patients with it, usually 3 to 5 sessions treatment make it clinically cured and avoided a surgery for it.
Acupuncture could help with plantar fasciitis. It can help to promote blood circulation and can help reduce inflammation around the area.
It does not resolve in one visit, but yes acupuncture can be very effective for plantar fasciitis. Seek an acupuncturist that is Board Certified, Licensed and who has had practice treating this condition. You will need 3-6 weekly visits to see significant change and then follow up until the condition is fully resolved.
Absolutely. I'm actually currently working with a patient with plantar fasciitis who felt immediate relief after their treatment.
