Premature Menopause
Sometimes, menopause can occur earlier than usual. This can happen for a variety of reasons including cancer treatments, the surgical removal of ovaries or other hormonal reasons. Another cause that could contribute to early menopause is primary ovarian insufficiency. Ovarian insufficiency is when your ovaries don’t produce normal levels of female hormones. This condition can be inherited or can be caused by an autoimmune disease.
