Get to know Family Physician Dr. Urooj Shibli, who serves patients in Mesquite, Texas.

A board-certified family physician, Dr. Shibli has been proudly attending to her patients’ health for more than 15 years. Recently, she established her own private practice - Shibli Family Medicine & Obesity Clinic - serving the community of Mesquite, Texas.

With a solid reputation, she is well known for her pleasant disposition, ability to build a warm rapport with her patients, being a good listener and for providing clear, easy to follow diagnosis and treatment plan. She is committed to providing patients with the most exceptional care in a compassionate and friendly atmosphere.

A native of Pakistan, Dr. Shibli graduated with her medical degree from the Ziauddin Medical University in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in family medicine at the Allegheny Health Network Western Pennsylvania Hospital in 2009.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Among her various accolades, Dr. Shibli has been the recipient of the On-Time Doctor Award (2018), Gold Medalist Award upon graduating from medical school, and the Committed to Patient Care Award three times in residency for going above and beyond in patient care. She was also given the Best Geriatric Resident Award for excellence in geriatric medicine and diligence in coverage of the geriatric service.

Happily married, she and her husband, Dr. Adeel Shibli, have three children. She enjoys spending her down time in outdoor activities with her family.
