Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Michael L. Milasich, who serves patients in Tacoma, Washington.
Supporting spinal health and creating healthy families, Dr. Milasich is a caring and respected chiropractor who is recognized as the Founder of Milasich Chiropractic Center. Having been serving the greater Tacoma, Washington area since 1973, he uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patients’ lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning.
Taking a “whole person” approach to chiropractic care, he looks for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Milasich will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient’s individual needs. Under his supervision, patients, both young and old, report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.
A Tacoma native, Dr. Milasich attended Sacred Heart, Bellarmine Preparatory High School, and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at Michigan State University in 1972. Subsequently, he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
To date, the doctor stays current on the latest patient care through advances in technology, equipment, and continuing education courses. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his service, including: The Liberty Bell Award from the Pierce County Trial Lawyers and Adjunct Faculty positions at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. He is also a Pettibon System Certified Instructor and a volunteer at the Red Cross.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain and back pain. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself without the use of medication or surgery.
Outside of the office, Dr. Milasich enjoys playing soccer, going to the movies, salmon fishing, reading, catching up on his Croatian heritage, and exploring the world. He and his wife, Joan, have been married for over four decades. They have eight grown children and five grandchildren to date.
