Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. Teresita Alonzo Zareno, who currently serves patients in Los Angeles, California

Licensed to practice in the state of California, Dr. Zareno is a board-certified family practitioner who sees patients at Pico Clinica Medica Latina in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Zareno is affiliated with Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and Saint Francis Medical Center.

Dr. Zareno received her medical degree at Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines, in 1968. After relocating to the United States, she completed her family medicine residency at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. 

Subsequent to her training, Dr. Zareno received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). The American Board of Family Medicine is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty within primary care that provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. The specialist, who is usually a primary care physician, is named a family physician.
