Dr. Hassan is a respected family physician who specializes in comprehensive health care for patients of all ages. He is in private practice in Sacramento, California.

From 1954 until 1957, Dr. Hassan served in the United States Marine Corps in Annapolis, receiving an Honorable Discharge. Years later, in 1968, he served on a Tour of Duty in general surgery (sponsored by the American Medical Association) at Quang Tri Provincial Hospital​ in Vietnam. This was followed by a second Tour of Duty in general surgery at the Orthopedic & Neurological Evaluations of Injured Children (sponsored by the Committee of Responsibility) in the Republic of South Vietnam in 1969. 

After earning his medical degree from Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City in 1966, Dr. Hassan went on to complete his internship at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion. This was followed by a residency in neurology and psychiatry at Mendocino State Hospital in 1970.

Committed to excellence, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. He also holds a Doctor of Juris (JD) degree from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento.

Among his professional achievements, Dr. Hassan was a founding member of the American Association of Volunteer Physicians, a Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, a Clinical Instructor of Family Practice at the University of California Davis School of Medicine, a member of the Sacramento El Dorado Medical Society, and a speaker/attendee at numerous seminars and conferences.
