Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Julia Aharonov, who serves patients throughout the State of Michigan.

Board-certified and award-winning anesthesiologist, Dr. Aharonov, is the CEO and Medical Director of Advanced Rapid Detox, which operates out of a state-of-the-art medical detox center in Oakland County Michigan. 

Over the years, she has investigated, created, and perfected the Advanced Rapid Detox procedure, an Opiate Detox Under IV Sedation, and Opiate Reversal. Patients are impressed by her extensive experience and intelligence but most importantly, they value her sensitivity and compassion in a difficult situation and remain grateful for her help to change their lives.

Dr. Aharonov also serves as the Medical Director of The Ketamine Center of Michigan in Pontiac, Michigan. Patients looking for help treating their depression, chronic pain, and other ailments using Ketamine, have found her to be extremely compassionate and skilled. Used responsibly, Ketamine can help people to recover from painful procedures such as surgery without the need for addictive pain relievers such as opioids.

In the doctor’s professional experience, she is affiliated with several hospitals in the local area, including DMC – Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC – Harper University Hospital, and Pontiac General Hospital. A member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists, she is board-certified in both anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Her acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship at Union Hospital. This was followed by residencies at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center and the University of Michigan. 

Named Top Doc Addiction Medicine by Hour Detroit Magazine (2010-2019), Dr. Aharonov became interested in narcotics detox when she was tasked to set up such service for a group she joined. While researching the subject and learning everything she could about it, she saw ways to improve and perfect the process by including some of her knowledge and experience in neurology and pain medicine. To this day, she feels that it is an important duty to provide those afflicted with addiction or those who have loved ones that are, as much knowledge about this disease as possible, as well as tools, choices, and options to decide how to take control of their lives.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure and temperature, anesthesiologists also measure the patient’s respiration.

In her personal life, Dr. Aharonov is a devoted wife, a mother of five children, and a grandmother of five.
