Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Scott graduated with his medical degree from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 1995. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 2000. He completed his subspecialized training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at the world-renown  AI DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware in 2001.

Achieving fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS).

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
