After completing medical school at the world-renowned Baylor College of Medicine in Houston’s Texas Medical Center, he did a 5-year residency at Chicago’s Rush Presbyterian St Luke’s Medical Center. He then pursued additional fellowship training in spinal surgery at Rush Cook County, and the Shriners Hospital for Children before serving his country as an orthopedic spinal surgeon at Travis AFB in California.

With over three decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
