Dr. Tang is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who practices at the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at The Mount Sinai Hospital. With over 20 years of experience in the field, she has established herself as an expert in general obstetrics and gynecology, fertility, minimally invasive procedures, and holistic health.

From family planning to motherhood to menopause, Dr. Tang is passionate about women’s health. She helps guide women to optimal wellness by promoting balance and harmony in the mind, body, and spirit. 

Likewise, Dr. Tang has special interest in hormone replacement therapy during perimenopause and menopause, hypertension during pregnancy, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Her extensive experience includes the delivery of over 5,000 babies, which is a testament to her exceptional skills and dedication to women’s health.

Teaching students, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since July of 2002.

Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Dr. Tang relocated to the United States in 1988 and has since had an impressive educational journey. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and biochemistry magna cum laude at the University of Wisconsin, she went on to earn her medical degree from the institution’s School of Medicine and Public Health.

Her academic achievements continued during her medical training, where she graduated at the head of her class. She completed her residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has since been recognized for excellence in teaching by her medical students and peers.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

An advocate and leader in the field of complementary and alternative medicine, Dr. Tang integrates holistic Eastern medicine with modern Western medicine in her practice. 

She obtained her medical acupuncture license after completing post-graduate fellowship training at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Since then, she has been employing acupuncture and acupressure techniques to help her patients achieve optimal health and wellness. 

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause.
