Get to know Urologist Dr. Dennis A. Pessis, who serves the population of Illinois. Dr. Pessis graduated with his Medical Degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Chicago Medical School in 1973. Dr. Pessis has been a faculty member and practicing urologist for over 40 years. His residency and internship were completed at Rush University Medical Center Chicago and he then went on to become a faculty member at the Rush University Department of Urology. Dr. Pessis became board certified in 1980 and is a member of many urological and medical societies including The American College of Surgeons and The American Urological Association. Dr. Pessis served as president of The American Urological Association from 2012-2013 and has been a member of many medical and urological committees. Dr. Pessis was professor of urology at Rush University Medical Center until 2017 when he became clinical professor in the department of urology Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Pessis takes great pride in the teaching of students and residents. His areas of interest have been urological cancers and urological stone disease. He presently sees patients in most areas of urological practice including vasectomy and vasectomy reversal. Dr. Pessis has served as principal investigator in clinical research projects in the areas of prostate and bladder cancer. He has been a member of numerous panel discussions and discussion leader at national urological meetings. Dr. Pessis looks forward to continued patient care as he draws from his many years of clinical experience and the enjoyment that he gets from his interaction with patients and colleagues.
