Dedicated to improving patient care, Dr. Shridhar is known for his excellence in brachytherapy, chemoradiotherapy, combined modality therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, conformal radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy, and more. Patients diagnosed with adenocarcinomas, bone cancer, anal neoplasms, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic and prostate cancer, cholangiocarcinoma and metastatic cancers are regularly referred to his care due to his proven clinical excellence.
Prior to his current endeavours, he served at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa as Chief of the Radiation Oncology GI Service and Chief of the Theraspheres Radioembolization Service, where he identified and coordinated scheduling and radiation dosing for patients requiring revolutionary Theraspheres treatment and initiated clinical trials. He was also an Assistant Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa.
Currently, the doctor maintains active positions on several national medical committees, as well as memberships with the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the Southwest Oncology Group, and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.
Following the completion of his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Shridhar went on to complete his internship in internal medicine at Beaumont Hospital. He then completed his residency in radiation oncology at Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Before long, he became board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, which is a not for profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
Throughout his fruitful career, Dr. Shridhar has taught oncology to physicians in training, provided expert care to patients, and conducted a litany of in-depth medical research and clinical trials, including more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, scientific abstracts, and poster presentations. Nationally, he is on the faculty of the ASTRO E-Contouring course, teaching community radiation oncologists the complexities of treating esophageal cancer with radiation therapy. He is also an invited speaker at numerous national medical meetings, including the Advanced Users meeting for the treatment of liver cancers.
Dedicating his considerable energy and skills to developing effective new radiation therapy techniques for pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancer, his extensive research and clinical trials have helped move forward the battle against these complex and life-threatening diseases. He is an outstanding clinician whose dedication to finding the best treatments for his patients has earned him recognition among the state’s most distinguished cancer specialists.
