A seasoned cardiologist, Dr. Koolwal founded Valley Heart Center in 1993 in the Rio Grande Valley, upon moving to McAllen, Texas. He is committed to giving his patients and their families comprehensive information about cardiovascular conditions and the latest medical treatments.
With a broad educational background, he graduated with his medical degree from MGM Medical College in India in 1980. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at Coney Island Hospital in 1988 and 1990, respectively. He was awarded Best Intern and Outgoing Fellow awards.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
