Dr. Lewin received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. A 1994 graduate of the Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Dr. Lewin went on to perform her internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in 1995. This was followed by a residency in Anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, completed in 1998, and a fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology with the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 1999. Dr. Lewin worked in the University of Pennsylvania Health System for three years before joining the Virtua Health System.
Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Dr. Lewin’s primary focus was the care of healthy and high risk patients during labor and delivery. She has a true passion for her work and the patients she cares for. Dr. Lewin is pursuing a nonclinical career in her field at this time.
