A determined obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Massaro is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. One of the standout aspects of his career is his involvement in medical education. His contributions extend far beyond patient care, as he imparts his knowledge to future generations of medical professionals.

At Monmouth University, he serves as a Clinical Professor for the Physician Assistant Program, where he teaches aspiring healthcare providers. Additionally, he holds the prestigious position of Associate Clinical Professor and Clerkship Director in obstetrics and gynecology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Massaro graduated with his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in the British West Indies. He further honed his skills during his residency at New York Medical College, Lincoln Hospital Affiliate, situated in the bustling Bronx, New York. It was during this period that he learned his foundation in obstetrics and gynecology.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Throughout his career, his efforts have been recognized by his involvement into the Alpha Omega Alpha Society, a prestigious medical honor society which is a testament to his commitment to both medical practice and education. 

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Massaro has been the recipient of several distinguished teaching awards. Notably, the Association of Professors in obstetrics and gynecology recognized his commitment with the Excellence in Teaching Award. His impact also was shown at Drexel University College of Medicine, where he received the Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching and the Dean’s Special Teaching Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching at Monmouth Medical Center. His excellence in teaching has also been acknowledged by the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Award and The Blockley-Osler Award, both for Teaching Excellence.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
