Having been practicing medical oncology in Tulsa since 2006, Dr. McCreary is a cancer specialist trained in blood disorders and the medical treatment of malignancies. He welcomes new patients of ages 18 and older at Utica Park Clinic – 12th & Utica.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. McCreary graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. 

Furthering his training, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. In 2006, he completed his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at North Shore University Hospital, a New York University Hospital, and served as chief fellow.

Subsequently, he attained board certification in medical oncology and internal medicine by the (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Throughout his line of work, Dr. McCreary has taught and supervised medical students, interns, and residents in New York and Tulsa. 

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Hematology.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist. An oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer and provides medical care for a person diagnosed with cancer. They lead a cancer treatment team of various healthcare professionals, treat patients with radiation therapy, coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as assist patients with pain management.
