Alongside serving patients at his private practice, Dr. Cox serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest, is recognized as a premier academic health science center and is known for excellence in education, research, and patient care.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Cox received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed a one-year residency at Baylor College of Medicine before beginning private practice.
The doctor augments his training with many hours of continuing medical education credits. Since 1979, he has been cited consistently for excellence in continuing medical education by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Medical Association. Additionally, he has earned board certification in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which certifies physicians in dermatology, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology.
For the purpose of advancing his efforts, Dr. Cox remains a member of various professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Medical Ethics, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Dermatology Society, and the Houston Dermatology Society.
