American Family Care Urgent Care is a new venture that opened in December, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, to deliver urgent care to the underserved community of Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
Academically, Dr. Lopez graduated with his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1996. He then went on to perform his combined residency in internal medicine / pediatrics at Morristown Medical Center, and his fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center / Rhode Island Hospital. Additionally, he earned his Masters Degree in Clinical Research at the University of Pittsburgh.
With over 25 years of experience, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, whose mission is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
