Get to know Dentist Dr. Richard E. Szikman, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia.

Specializing in general and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Szikman is a dentist who creates beautiful smiles and provides compassionate, individualized care at The Szikman Dental Group in Atlanta, Georgia. He practices alongside his father, Dr. Michael Szikman, at the helm of their two-generation dental practice.

Having earned the reputation for “catering to cowards,” The Szikman Dental Group has been the choice for dental phobics in Atlanta for years. They do everything they can to increase a patient’s comfort level. Services from cosmetic procedures to complete reconstructive dentistry are provided in a modern and comfortable setting where each operatory is equipped with a television, DVD player, and headphones. Whether a patient needs to find a dentist for immediate relief of pain, to fix a tooth, or to maintain a healthy smile, The Szikman Dental Group can help.

Back in 1998, Dr. Szikman graduated with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, which is the dental school at Boston University. Upon graduation, he completed a one-year residency in advanced general dentistry at the University of Boston.

In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of Computerized Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
