Subsequent to his education, in 1988, the doctor attained board certification in orthopedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, Dr. Goodman is affiliated with Franklin Hospital Medical Center, Mount Sinai South Nassau, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NYU Langone Hospital — Long Island, and Long Island Jewish Valley Stream.
