Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Lisa D. Hitchins, who serves patients in Cypress, Texas.

Dr. Hitchins, a trusted dermatologist, believes in creating the healthiest skin possible for each woman, man, and child she treats at Dermatology Center of Northwest Houston in Cypress, Texas. She is well-experienced in performing various cosmetic & dermatologic procedures. 

Treating patients like family, she combines hands-on, compassionate care with cutting-edge technologies, minimally invasive surgeries, and the latest advances in skincare and anti-aging treatments. She has a particular passion for helping patients learn more about their skin so that they can keep it healthy, clear, and radiant at every stage of life.

Besides helping to clear troublesome conditions, Dr. Hitchins offers skin screenings and teaches  how to protect oneself from skin cancer and other skin issues. She also provides several cosmetic dermatologic solutions, ranging from smoothing wrinkles with Botox to removing veins with sclerotherapy.  

A Houston native, Dr. Hitchins began her medical education at Texas A&M University. She earned her medical degree at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. While at Tulane, she underwent intensive training in diagnosing and treating psoriasis, eczema, acne, warts, and skin cancer. She supplemented her studies in medical dermatology by working with renowned professors who specialize in cosmetics and cosmetic dermatology.

Following her training, she attained board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Through speeches and other outreach efforts, especially in advance of the summer season, Dr. Hitchins frequently shares her insights about preventive skin protection measures, dermatological surgery, and cosmetic options. She also lends her talents to free cancer-screening events for people looking to get a medical professional’s opinion about any suspicious marks on their bodies.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

When she is not creating glowing complexions at Dermatology Center of Northwest Houston, Dr. Hitchins enjoys working on a tractor and raising three red-headed girls.
