Acupuncturist
989 S Main St Suite A431 Cottonwood AZ, 86326About
Dr. Beverly Lawrence is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Cottonwood, AZ. She evaluates and treats patients based on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncturists complete their evaluations by getting a patient history, looking at the tongue and various other areas of the body, as well as using the pulses to feel the health of the internal organs. Very thin acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points on the body to affect the desired healing changes in the body. Many of the body's systems respond to acupuncture, and it can treat physical pain, emotional stress, and many other health conditions.
There are also other adjunct therapies or modalities such as cupping, gua sha (aka scraping), tui na (TCM massage), herbs, essential oils, flower essences, sound therapies, color therapies, bio-mat, TDP lamp (Far Infrared), and so on that are added to the treatment to comprise the full medical treatment at the healing center.
Specialties include pain management, neuropathy, migraines, stress management as well as PTSD, and Addiction treatments using the NADA protocol. She is an Acupuncture Diplomate with NCCCAOM since January 2010.
Dr. Beverly is a certified medical hypnotherapist, certified in Colorpuncture(R), and an Acutonic(R) Sound Healing Practitioner. see https://DrBeverlyLawrence.com for more information about Dr. Beverly and her various other practices.

Do laser acupuncture pens really work?
Specifically, I will discuss COLD lasers and assume that is what you mean. It depends on the type of laser and what it will be used for. The red laser is great for pain and for just stimulating the point. I have used it clinically for decades and on myself with great results. There is no strong research that the green or purple lasers have any therapeutic value. There is some research to indicate that the blue laser has some significance for some conditions, but my own clinical experience with it was it is not very useful so I do not use blue. That said, using colored light that is not laser is very therapeutic, especially the colors red, blue, and yellow. Many devices are available, but training in the use of these devices is recommended to prevent damage and to know what color to use for specific conditions. READ MORE

Can you get acupuncture while sick?
Sick is a very vague term. The answer is it depends, sick with what and how sick. Most of my patients come in monthly for a “tune up”. They may say I feel like I’m coming down with something. Acupuncture can boost the immune system. So after the treatment they feel fine and do not come down with anything. If you wait until you are very sick with a cold or flu then you probably need herbs, chicken soup, and to stay in bed. There are too many possibilities to answer here. Best to call your acupuncturist and get their advice. READ MORE
Does acupressure points really work?
Of course, it works or people would not have been using it for thousands of years. That said it is not as effective and using needles but will do in a pinch. Also, you need to know which points to use. For that, you need a diagnosis. For example, He Gu (LI4) is used for headaches. But you need to know what is causing the headache and use the appropriate point for the cause. Otherwise, the headache will either not go away or just come back again. READ MORE
What are the acupuncture points for anxiety?
Acupuncture is not like western medicine. We look at the entire body, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects to determine the diagnosis and treatment plan. There is no one answer, this is why you need to go to a licensed acupuncturist for treatment. READ MORE
