He joined The Spine and Scoliosis Center in 2006, serving patients at the offices in Orlando, Clermont, Davenport, and Winter Haven, Florida.

The doctor’s specific services include spinal injections (lumbar epidural, selective nerve root blocks, sacroiliac joint injections, lumbar facet blocks, radiofrequency ablation), motor point blocks/phenol neurolysis, peripheral joint injections, electromyography/nerve conduction studies, botulinum toxin injections, and acupuncture. He believes that a multi-disciplinary approach consisting of medication, interventional pain modalities as well as a good nutritional and exercise regimen is essential for improving overall spine dysfunction.

Named a 2019 Elite Doctor by Orlando Style Magazine, Dr. Placer also serves as the Head Clinician at Specialized Rehabilitation Physicians Group, an outstanding physical rehabilitation practice with offices in Clermont and Orlando. His vision for the practice is to provide expert physical medicine and rehabilitation supervision to patients in rehab and extended care facilities who suffer from neuromusculoskeletal disorders. On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Placer obtained his medical degree from The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his fellowship in spine care and pain management within the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Florida in Gainesville. 

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, he is board-certified through the American Board of Pain Medicine, whose mission is to improve the quality of pain medicine.

Likewise, he is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
