Having graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, he was accepted into Northwestern University’s Honors Program in Medical Education at the remarkable age of 17. His medical school education continued at Northwestern University, followed by extensive training at the University of Arizona/Arizona Health Sciences Center. He completed two years of general surgery training and four years of urology, distinguishing himself as Chief Resident for two years.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in urology through the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe and ethical urologic care.
Throughout his career, Dr. Park has been at the forefront of advancements in urological care. His tenure in private practice and as clinical faculty for the University of Arizona was marked by the initiation of a successful community-based robotic surgery program.
Recognized for his expertise, he was recruited to the Richmond area, where he continued to elevate the standard of care in robotic surgery. Dr. Park’s peers acknowledged his contributions by electing him for inclusion in the prestigious “Best Doctors in America ®” from 2011 to 2012.
A certified DaVinci surgery proctor, Dr. Park has shared his knowledge and skills by mentoring surgeons across the country. His surgical expertise encompasses a wide range of procedures, from robotic prostatectomy to nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, cystectomy, and adrenal surgeries. His pioneering spirit is evident in his adoption of new technologies, such as fluorescent laser imaging with robotic surgery, further solidifying his position as an innovator in the field.
