Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Andrea Jade Alvarez, who serves patients in Florida.

An established emergency physician, Dr. Alvarez works within the Department of Emergency Medicine at HCA Florida Westside Hospital.

Westside Regional Medical Center is now HCA Florida Westside Hospital. The healthcare facility has been serving the healthcare needs of people from Broward County, South Florida and around the world for more than 45 years. As a 24/7 comprehensive healthcare facility, the 250-bed hospital offers a full range of medical services, including emergency care, stroke care, orthopedics, cardiology, surgery, and oncology.

Academically, Dr. Alvarez graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an Emphasis on Physiology from the University of Washington. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, after which she performed her residency in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). The AOBEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues (emergency physicians).

On a professional level, Dr. Alvarez is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Osteopathy.

In the state of Florida, she is affiliated with Lower Keys Medical Center and Broward Health Medical Center.
