Her approach is to evaluate patients as unique individuals and to create multiple modality treatment plans. “We have always been open to new patients since the practice was established by Dr. Lonnie Herzog in 1989. Our goal is to provide outstanding care for adults in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. We are dedicated to delivering comprehensive health management in a comfortable environment with a personalized approach. Our physicians use the most appropriate current strategies of evidence-based medicine to help you maintain good health and manage disease processes.” as stated on the practice’s website.

After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Hartford in 1990, Dr. Banks went on to earn her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1994. She completed her residency years later, in 1997, at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Following her education, the doctor became board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Integrative medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies. An integrative medicine specialist is someone whose approach is guided by a focus on the whole person as a means to help patients maintain optimal health or achieve healing.
