Dr. Harry Black is a General Surgeon in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was born and raised. After completing Medical School at the University of Florida and five years of Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, he returned home to Daytona, where he has been in practice since 1989. He has worked for Florida Health Care Plans (the oldest HMO in Florida) since 2000. He currently serves as Associate Medical Director/Director of Surgery and oversees the FHCP ambulatory surgery center and wound care center as well as caring for his own surgical patients.
He has served as Clerkship Director for Surgery at the FSU College of Medicine, Daytona Beach Regional Campus since its inception 15 years ago. More than 250 students have come through this campus and he has been fortunate in participating in the education of all of them.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Black has seen over 100,000 patients in his office and has performed over 14,000 operations and helped to take care of over 1,000 trauma patients. He remains grateful for all the relationships with patients and colleagues he has enjoyed over the last 33 years.
