With over two decades of experience in the healthcare sector, Dr. Garrison is a seasoned leadership professional renowned for her leadership commitment to providing innovative and impactful solutions for both healthcare systems and patients.
Currently, Dr. Garrison serves as the Director, Global Medical Affairs Strategy and Execution at Johnson and Johnson. In this role, she serves as a critical partner leading the development and execution of globally funded medical strategies and comprehensive scientific engagement to improve patient outcomes through competitive, evidence-based solutions, inclusion in pathways to reduce health disparity and strengthen health system engagement.
Before her current role, Dr. Garrison was selected by Johnson and Johnson in the Experienced Military Veteran Leadership Development Program (EMVLDP) where she successfully graduated in two 9-month rotations. She completed her first successful 9-month rotation through the Janssen Supply Chain in Deliver. Her second 9-month rotation she served as the Director, Health System Strategy and Operations in Janssen Scientific Affairs.
Dr. Garrison previously served 20 years in the federal government and military, where she retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Colonel. Jennifer worked as a Flight Commander in various Hospital or Clinical settings, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer and recently as a Chief Executive Officer of a Medical Treatment Facility in a deployed setting in Southeast, Asia. In her last assignment, Dr. Garrison was assigned to the Defense Health Agency and served in three positions as the Assistant Director of Staff; Deputy Assistant Director, Operational Medicine, and Deputy Chief, Deputy Assistant Director, Combatant Command for Operational Support. She led the largest Department of Defense COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Operation Planning Team for the President and Secretary of Defense and sent 11.3M in vaccine to eligible beneficiaries world-wide and led medical capabilities for 120K Afghanistan evacuees before resettling in the United States.
With a solid educational background, Dr. Garrison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Wesley College in 2000 graduating at the top of her class Summa Cum Laude. Following this, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration at Wilmington College in 2002.
Moving forward, she obtained her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Health/Healthcare Administration and Management from Walden University in 2015, followed by her Master’s Degree in General Military Strategic Studies from the USAF Air War College in 2019.
In affiliation with the American Academy of Medical Administration, Dr. Garrison is a Diplomate in Healthcare Administration and a Fellow.
Dr. Garrison is also board certified as an Emergency Manager through the International Agency of Emergency Management.
Her other professional affiliations extend to the Healthcare Business Association, Veterans Leadership Council (Johnson and Johnson) the Integrative Aging Association, the Medical Affairs of Professionals Society.
