The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. 

An active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Heart Association, she is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being. 

Throughout her extensive educational and clinical background, Dr. Bais has been the recipient of various awards, including: Geoffrey Bourne Scholarship (1990-1994), Excellence in Research and Scholarship Award, St. Barnabas Medical Center (1994), Outstanding Resident in Research Award, St. Barnabas Medical Center (1995), and Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Club of Plainsboro (2006), among others. 

In addition to English, she is fluent in Spanish and Hindi.
