Originally from Egypt, she graduated with her medical degree from Mansoura University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the St. Francis Medical Center.

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
