Can allergic rhinitis be fixed with medications?
Allergies cannot be cured with medication, but they can be managed. Avoidance if you can of the allergen is the first line of management. There are over the counter medications called antihistamines such as Loratadine or Cetirizine that help to control symptoms for 24 hours at a time without causing drowsiness. If those are not working well enough, you may have to add a steroid nasal spray like Flonase, Nasonex or Rhinocort, which are also over the counter.
