Dr. Ely Tamano is a psychiatrist practicing in Leawood, KS. Dr. Tamano is a medical doctor specializing in the care of mental health patients. He received his medical education from Our Lady of Fatima University - College of Medicine in the Philippines, and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was the Chief Resident at the Kansas City V.A. Medical Center, during his final year of residency training. He is a former Councilor for the Kansas Psychiatric Society, and the former Medical Director for Shawnee Mission Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Department. Dr. Tamano left inpatient psychiatry in 2016, to focus on his outpatient practice at Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City (PAKC), and to help start a new division of PAKC, called Advanced Psychiatric Solutions of Kansas City (APSKC). APSKC was developed to provide patients with advanced treatment options, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Ketamine Infusion, for individuals with severe depression, who have been refractory to traditional medication management. Dr. Tamano is the Co-Medical Director of APSKC, and the Medical Director of the TMS Clinic. Dr. Tamano is Board-certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He maintains an outpatient practice in Leawood, KS, and treats patients ages 16 and older. Dr. Tamano is currently accepting new patients.
