Dr. Haque attended Madras Medical College, where she graduated with her Medical Degree in 1967, giving her over three decades of experience in her field. Following medical school, she completed her internship at the Miriam Hospital. Following her internship, she undertook her residency at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Driven to further her knowledge and expertise, she completed her fellowship at Ohio State University/Nisonger Center in 1971. For more than 30 years, Dr. Haque has provided comprehensive health care to infants, children and adolescents seen in the ambulatory clinics of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which includes a large multicultural population. Dr. Haque currently teaches physicians, students, residents and allied health care professionals best practices regarding the management of multicultural populations in the ambulatory clinics and the management of hospitalized and critically ill patients. Dr. Haque has been researching antiviral agents in the management of warts and skin blemishes. She currently holds three patents on the antiviral agents of human papilloma virus and has completed phase two of FDA-approved clinical trials in search of antiviral agents against human papilloma viruses that cause warts. Dr. Haque is actively pursuing further research and product development of her unique patented product that would help sufferers of human papilloma viral tumors, including warts, molluscum contagiosum rash and other skin blemishes. Dr. Haque has created a mini-module titled Islam and Medicine: An International Overview, for the patient-centered curriculum for second-year medical students at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, which deals with the behavioral and cultural aspects and beliefs of Muslim patients in the clinical ambulatory setting, as well as in the management of hospitalized and critically ill patients. She has been teaching the course since 1996. This module will soon be available on the web site of Islamic Medical Association of North America. Malika Haque, MD, is a member of the Section of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Haque uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive, continuous and convenient care through all of your child’s transitions, from birth to adolescence.
