Dr. Ashish Vala is a sports medicine physician practicing in Houston, TX.  He specializes in non-operative orthopedics and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine / Sports Medicine.  He received his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine.

A Houston native, Dr. Vala served as chief resident while completing his Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Austin, Texas. He then went to San Antonio for his sports medicine fellowship at Christus Santa Rosa where he worked with athletes at all levels, including professional (San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Missions, San Antonio Silver Stars), college (UT San Antonio and Trinity University), high school and amateur. He is a licensed scuba diver and has had a lifelong interest in sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. He encourages patients toward behavioral changes to improve their health by using exercise as a tool to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
