Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Roman M. Natoli, who serves patients in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Natoli is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in trauma and post-traumatic problems. He works at IU Health Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, located within IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

His priority is compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals who have sustained traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.The goal is to regain as much pre-injury function as possible using both nonoperative and surgical treatments as appropriate. Dr. Natoli is also focused on translational research to lessen the burden of post-traumatic problems.

Holding an academic title, he serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Indiana School of Medicine.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Natoli graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago in 2002. He then earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Rice University in 2008, and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 2010.

Furthering his training, he performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in 2015. He also completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Shock Trauma Hospital, University of Maryland in Baltimore, 2016.

With expertise in a wide variety of advanced techniques and procedures, Dr. Natoli is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Practicing medicine in Indiana, Dr. Natoli is affiliated with Indiana University Health Medical Center.
