Renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Chmielewski is the Founder of Harmony Plastic Surgery PLLC. She created the practice for patients in the greater New York City area who are interested in safe surgery with aesthetic and well-balanced results.
While fully competent in the breadth of cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery, she specializes in body contouring procedures of the “core”. In particular, she enjoys restoration and enhancement of the abdomen, waist, and breast after pregnancy or weight loss.
Plastic surgery is a career that allows Dr. Chmielewski to make a positive impact on patients’ quality of life. Her driving force is the pleasure she derives in working together with patients to accomplish a common goal. Active in the academic field, she serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at the New York University Long Island School of Medicine. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dr. Chmielewski attended Princeton University where she majored in Chemistry, Classic Greek and played Division I softball. While spending three post-baccalaureate years at the University of Pennsylvania, she honed her Spanish language skills through study, volunteering, and living abroad. She ultimately decided to pursue her medical training at the Case Western University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She remained at Case to complete a rigorous, six-year integrated plastic surgery residency under the tutelage of the world-renowned Dr. Bahman Guyuron.
After training, Dr. Chmielewski moved to New York City to join a busy, cosmopolitan private practice for three years and became board-certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. While serving a diverse population of cosmetic as well as reconstructive patients, she served as one of the principal plastic surgeons at Jamaica Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center. There she took care of a wide variety of complex reconstructive problems, working hand in hand with general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, as well as others. This experience made her the competent, well-rounded surgeon that she is today.
Employing her skills and experience, she is a member of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
Due to her bedside manner and relatability, Dr. Chmielewski is well-respected in her industry. She believes if you do not feel comfortable with your surgeon, you deserve better. She takes her patients’ satisfaction and results personally. To her, a happy patient is the most successful outcome.

Outside of the office, Dr. Chmielewski enjoys running, boxing, oil painting, playing the piano, and traveling. Her favorite place to vacation is in Mexico. She is a former Division I softball player and owns an Italian greyhound named Ollie. She speaks several languages, including English and Spanish.
