Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Amit Paul Singh, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Dr. Singh is an anesthesiologist serving Atlanta and the surrounding communities. He is affiliated with Piedmont Healthcare, a recognized leader in delivering expert care. Last year, Piedmont Healthcare served nearly two million patients, performing over 44,000 surgeries, delivering 8,000 babies, providing 471,695 outpatient encounters, completing 235 organ transplants, and handling nearly 250,000 emergency room visits. 

In regards to his education, Dr. Singh earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 2004. He went on to complete an internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2005 and 2008 respectively. 

Additionally, Dr. Singh is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). The ABA aims to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. 

Dr. Singh has been actively involved in the development of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery strategies at Piedmont Hospital.  He was recognized as the winner of the 2019 Piedmont Clinic Excellence and Innovation Award for his development of protocols that enhance patient recovery by reducing narcotics, optimizing fluid management, and minimizing postoperative nausea and vomiting.  

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. As an anesthesiologist, Dr. Singh ensures the safety of patients who are about to undergo surgery. He may also help manage pain after an operation.
