How serious is being anemic?
Seriousness of anemia is very dependent on the cause. In older patients there is always a concern of underlying cancer like colon cancer. In your age group that would be very uncommon. Anemia in young women tends to come from your menstrual bleeding. There are many causes of anemia and could simply be due to nutritional deficiencies like b12 or iron.
