A seasoned radiologist, Dr. Gizienski is the Director of Breast Imaging at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests include Automated Breast Ultrasound for dense breast tissue and extent of disease in newly diagnosed patients, and all types of breast biopsies.
A nationally renowned hospital specializing in women, UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital combines a wealth of specialty services with a traditional focus on gynecologic and obstetric services. Long recognized for its services to women, it also offers a wide range of care to men as well.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Gizienski earned her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College, and received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. She graduated with her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in 1994, before completing her residency in radiology and her fellowship in breast imaging at the University of Virginia.
Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the American College of Radiology and the American Society of Neuroradiology. She has previously been a speaker on all breast imaging modalities including stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound guided biopsies, MRI biopsies, breast ultrasound, MRI and tomosynthesis. She has spoken throughout the United States and also other countries such as Italy, Japan and Korea.
Active in academia, Dr. Gizienski serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh, and is an Instructor at the Medical Technology Management Institute.
