Dr. Siekanowicz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon & a sports medicine specialist who is currently serving patients at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Holy Cross Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Maryland. Founded in 1963 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, today Holy Cross Hospital is a 449-bed, teaching hospital caring for more than 36,000 inpatients each year. It offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, with specialized expertise in women and infant services, senior services, surgery, neuroscience, and cancer.
Dr. Siekanowicz is also affiliated with Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland. Doctors Community Health System is a network of medical and surgical services provided throughout Prince George’s County and in Anne Arundel County. At the heart of this network is the flagship – Doctors Community Hospital. Dr. Siekanowicz earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship in general surgery at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, followed by his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens – an affiliate of Cornell University. Subsequently, he completed a sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery fellowship at Arlington Hospital with the Virginia Sports Medicine Institute and Georgetown University, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Siekanowicz is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). To ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice of orthopaedic surgery, the ABOS maintains the highest standards for education, practice, and conduct through examination, certification, and maintenance of certification for the benefit of the public. Additionally, Dr. Siekanowicz is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Throughout his successful career, Dr. Siekanowicz has authored and co-authored several publications for his field. He is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the Patient’s Choice Award from 2010 to 2013, Compassionate Doctor Award in 2013 and 2014, Top Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Surgeon in Maryland in 2018, as well as Patient Preferred Orthopedic Surgeon for 2019.
