Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Kendall Hamilton, who serves patients in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Dr. Hamilton is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. His clinical interests include reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, and knee, and cartilage transplantation.

At present, he is in practice with SHMG Orthopedics & Sports Medicine – Lake Drive in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Some of the services that he offers / procedures that he performs include: ACL reconstructive surgery, bone fracture repair, cartilage surgery, cartilage transplantation, elbow arthroscopy, elbow injuries and treatment, fracture care, knee injuries and treatment, rotator cuff repair, shoulder injuries and treatment, sports medicine care, surgery of the shoulder and elbow, and total joint replacement of the shoulder.

After earning his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Dr. Hamilton completed his residency in orthopedic surgery through Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.

With a commitment to his profession, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Hamilton served as assistant team physician for the Houston Astros, Ballet, Dynamo, Rockets and Texans, Rice University, and NASA Astronaut Corps.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
