Dr. Parkman is currently serving patients’ dental needs at Foundations Family & Implant Dentistry at both offices in Louisville, Kentucky. There, he and the team of dental professionals offer a wide range of services, including family, pediatric, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. Originally from Sylvester, Georgia, Dr. Parkman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valdosta State University, where he was also a member of the baseball team. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he was very involved in the local chapter of the American Student Dental Association and served as the student body president.
Recognized for his professional skill and expertise, Dr. Parkman was given the undergraduate award from the Academy of Osseointegration, which is an international dental implant organization. Following graduation, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, completing a one-year advanced education in general dentistry residency in Louisiana. He completed the remainder of his Air Force requirements in South Carolina, followed by advanced training in intravenous sedation techniques, oral surgery, implant placement, and periodontal surgery.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Parkman loves playing golf and rooting for University of Georgia football and Louisville basketball. He and his wife, Laura Parkman, have two children. Recently, they joined Southeast Christian Church and look forward to serving in whatever capacity they are needed.
