Get to know Emergency Medicine Physician Dr. Thomas W. Zoch, who serves patients throughout the State of Wisconsin.

Dr. Zoch, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, serves as the Vice President of Care Management-Clinical at Ascension Wisconsin. He provides leadership and direction for the care and utilization management teams, working in collaboration with Ascension Wisconsin hospitals, clinics, and community care providers. 

Before Ascension Wisconsin, He was Chief Medical Officer of Care Navigation, Clinical Documentation, and Compliance for Ministry Health Care. 

With an unwavering commitment to his field, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

In addition, he is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, which certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.

In the early days of his academic career, Dr. Zoch earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1983. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at Marshfield Clinic in 1984 and 1986, respectively. 

Committed to excellence, he is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician is a physician who works at an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients. They care for unscheduled and undifferentiated patients of all ages.
