At best, skin conditions can be irritating or embarrassing. At worst they can signal a serious illness. The only way to be sure that a rash, pimple or mole is not potentially dangerous is to consult a professional like Dr. Geller and his team at The Dermatology Specialists.

With offices in Hacketstown and Chester, New Jersey, they are always ready to go that extra step to setting patients at ease and providing care they can trust. Patients have excellent things to say about them, one stating “The entire office from appointment through my minor surgery went flawlessly! I come from a family of physicians and can say my experience could not have been any better. Dr. Geller and his staff are first class professionals!”

As a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, Dr. Geller has expertise in all areas of skin disease and skin pathology. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of cancerous and precancerous lesions of the skin including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, atypical (dysplastic) moles, actinic (solar) keratoses, and cutaneous T cell lymphoma (mycosis fungoides). He also diagnoses biopsy slides prepared in the practice’s advanced histopathology laboratory.

Prioritizing compassionate total body skin care, he is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. He is also board-certified in dermatopathology through the American Board of Pathology and the American Board of Dermatology.

A 1986 graduate of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Dr. Geller went on to perform his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital. He then completed his residency in dermatology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by fellowships in dermatopathology at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic and 1987 and 1991, respectively. Two years of his training were dedicated exclusively to skin pathology and diagnosing a large number of rare conditions.

Achieving the required medical competence plus the high level of care and dedication needed to lead in his specialty, Dr. Geller is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology (FASD), and a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (FASDS). In addition, he is a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey, the American Medical Association, and the Morris County Medical Society.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology or surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. It also encompasses analyses of the potential causes of skin diseases at a basic level. A dermatopathologist is a highly trained physician who specializes in diagnosing disorders of the skin under a microscope.

As a Top Dermatologist in New Jersey, listed as such in the Consumers’ Research Council of America’s Guide to America’s Top Dermatologists, Dr. Geller has always excelled in his field. He has made dozens of professional presentations and has conducted publications in the areas of dermatology and dermatopathology.
