  • Neck pain and headache after water tubing?

Greetings, So, what I am hearing is: You suffered a head injury and a neck injury while tubing. Severity unknown. While this may be just a neck sprain with associated headache which may self resolve, you really want to rule out more serious issues. So, I would advise you go to the ER where they may consider doing a CT-Brain and a CT-Neck. Then, because this was probably lake or river water, the ER doc would want to ask you about any signs or symptoms of Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (Naegleria Fowleri), an infection. If they discharge you from the ER, you would want to follow closely with your family doctor or Primary Care Provider. Sincerely, Dr. Joe LoPresti READ MORE
